Found Pup

An Alyeska Pipeline Service Company work crew first noticed this pretty little girl hanging out around an access gate at about 45 mile Elliott Highway this morning. Apparently she stayed there all day. The crew donated their lunch to her, and employees from Pump Station #7 picked her up this evening.

She is a very young dog, maybe six months old or so. Mixed breed, flop-eared, intact female. She did not have a collar and no rub on her neck indicating she might have been collared in the past. She seems to be well socialized at least toward humans, and apparently has some experience climbing up and down stairs. She appears to be a healthy pup with good weight and a nice, shiny coat.

We have no idea how she might have ended up under an access gate near the Tatalina River Crossing, but we suspect she may have been abandoned.

She will be transported to the Loving Companions Animal Rescue shelter by one of our security officers later tonight. If you or someone you know is looking for a really sweet pet dog this little girl just might fill the bill.
