“A good dog is so much a nobler beast than an indifferent man that one sometimes gladly exchanges the society of one for that of the other.” (William Francis Butler)

Rough & Tumble in the Snow
About 4 inches of snow has fallen since last night, and it is BEAUTIFUL snow. Thick, fluffy, compressible, perfect snow for the start of a new mushing season. I took the puppies walkabout in it this afternoon, and they had a delightful time bowling each other over in the fresh powder.
The forecast for the next few days is favorable for even more of the white stuff. With just a little luck I'll be able to run the dogs on a sled rather than the four-wheeler later this week. I'll be getting off duty for two weeks on Tuesday, and by Wednesday morning I should be more than ready to take the team on the trail.
