Catching Up on the Race

It's sure nice to be writing from home this morning.

Out on the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race trail later yesterday evening it appeared that Susan Rogan had taken a wrong turn, and was south of the Chena River on the Chena River Flood Control Project.  There are a lot of trails down on the project, including trails that have established for an upcoming championship sprint sled dog race.  Her detour took her off the proper trail long enough for Dan Kaduce to claim the 9th place position.  She regained the trail to round out the top-10 finishers of the 2013 Yukon Quest.

Ed Hopkins, Dave Dalton, Crispin Studer and Denis Tremblay are all on the trail between Two Rivers and Town.  Tremblay was assigned a 2 hour penalty for not leaving enough food with a dropped dog at Slaven's Roadhouse.  Out at the checkpoint Cody Strathe, Darrin Lee and Brian Wilmshurt are serving their mandatory layover and will be leaving later this morning.  Rob Cooke is at Mile 101, Mathew Failor at Central and and Dyan Bergen on the trail between Circle City and Central.

Please don't forget we are looking for a new handler for the Stardancer Historical Sled Dogs kennel.  Details were posted in yesterday evenings report.
