Yesterday a notice was posted on the Sleddogcentral.com forum about a dog that had been either released from his crate or stolen in Whitehorse, YT. Apparently nearly everyone in town heard about the incident and was looking for the dog, which was returned to his owners by late afternoon. You can read all about it in the Whitehorse Daily Star. I especially appreciated the comment "We’ve relied on dogs in this territory for over a hundred years, so, seriously, don’t mess with our dogs.”
Speaking of dogs and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, I recently discovered the Copper Haul Twister blog, apparently affiliated with the Dog Powered Sports Association of the Yukon. They have some very cute dog pics posted on the blog, and from the descriptions of some of their sledding and dryland games, those folks in the Yukon really know how to have fun with their dogs.
