Happy Solstice Weekend

Summer solstice is an important landmark in time here in the Interior. The longest day of the year, this year the solstice is on Sunday. Starting Monday you'll hear us reminding each other that summer is short and winter is coming. Although we can still look forward to a couple of more months of liquid water and nice temperatures, we will be shifting our mental gears with much of our focus on preparing for the winter to come.

I'll be spending the weekend out at the Alaska State Rendezvous, this year being held at the Delta Bison Range. There is a nice story about the rendezvous in today's issue of the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. If time traveling isn't your thing, there are plenty of other activities around the area to keep you entertained and occupied. Just check out today's issue of the paper and you'll find plenty of activities being advertised.

I'd write more, but I've no time to spare. I still need to load some stuff into the truck, get saddled up and on the road to rendezvous. Hope you also have a GREAT weekend.
