Our first run of the new year went GREAT. I had an 8 dog team, pulling two sleds. Our handler, Jeff Garlough, rode the 'whip sled', the second sled. It's called a whip sled because on tight corners it tends to skid out, like playing crack the whip when we were kids.
Our team today was Cassiopeia and Capella in lead, Vladimir (just shy of a year old) and Selene in swing, Orion and Rose in team and Beau and Seamus in wheel. As you can see in the video clips, Seamus is fully recovered from his surgery and not in the least affected by the benign tumors that were removed.
Up in swing, Vladimir's performance was stellar. He did his share of the work through the entire run. I couldn't have been happier with him, nor of his team mates. It was a nice, relatively warm day with fast trails and not a lot of traffic. One couldn't ask for a better start to the new year.
